hmm,,, this one's a doozy,,,
not only the fact that this version of the song, is one of a kind,,,never before or later released or appeared anywhere else,except on this comp. (and now here on GB bandcamp profile),,
but the fact & the point of this whole project is,,,well,, an adventurous one, to say the least.
"tapeless studio" was (is?) recording studio in amsterdam,
somebody came to an idea of making a "non-stop 24 hour live recording marathon" and then release a cd with the material from the sessions,,and presumably with it promote the studio and bands with the product.
many different engineers & bands were attached to the project, and the ones selected (or, the ones crazy & brave enough,,) are on this final product. (25 songs/performers 9+ engineers).
the session started sat. 25 nov. 2000 at 12:00 and finished sun. 26 nov. 2000 at 12:00.
every band/performer together with given engineer at that time, had only an hour to prepare mix & record live,,,
styles were VERY diverse.
GB was scheduled at 06:00 (!?)
if my memory serves me right, the reason that some songs (unfortunately including ours) were not represented in full length on the CD, was because of the CD time issue, as well as the time issue in general, and probably somebodies crazy idea that songs should be short anyway,,,(and of course to squeeze as much as possible songs/performers in/on this).
the line up of GB at that time was pretty fresh,as well as the material.
the song later appeared on 2001 "S.O.S." album with a new recording/version/production, engineered by DANNY O' REALLY,,,(who i believe had his sticky fingers also attached (unofficially) in this version, in one way or another,,)
